This is one of our new favorite Slow Cooker recipes. This chicken is SO GOOD! We served it over buttered rice the first night and the second night we made Sweet Honey Mustard Chicken Toasted Subs with melted provolone cheese, spinach and thinly sliced red onion.
Sweet Honey Mustard Chicken (Crock Pot & Freezer Recipe)
Ingredients
4 Chicken Breast (or 10-12 chicken thighs)
1 large diced onion
4 cloves garlic minced
1 cup dijon mustard
1.5 cups honey
1/4 cup (4 Tbsp) butter
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
salt & pepper to taste
Directions
Straight in the slow cooker: Place all ingredients in a slow cooker that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Cook on high for 3 – 4 hours or low for 5-6 hours. Remove rosemary sprigs and shred chicken. Place chicken back in sauce and serve over buttered rice, mashed potatoes or noodles. Also great on a toasted sub or in a wrap! Enjoy!
For the Freezer: Combine ingredients in plastic freezer bag. Label and freeze flat. The day before you plan on cooking it, place in in the fridge to thaw over night. Put thawed contents in a slow cooker that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Cook on high for 3 – 4 hours or low for 5-6 hours. Remove rosemary sprigs and shred chicken. Place chicken back in sauce and serve over buttered rice, mashed potatoes or noodles. Also great on a toasted sub or in a wrap! Enjoy!
While I was using one of my favorite kitchen hacks (Shredding the chicken in my stand mixer in seconds!) I started thinking about some more of my favorite kitchen & appliance hacks and thought it may be fun to share them with you guys! You probably already know some or most of these, but maybe there are a couple that are new to you!
1) Tennis balls help your laundry load dry faster—just throw two or three in the dryer and your clothes will be done quicker. I especially use this hack when I am drying comforters or pillows, or anything else that can use fluffing 😉
2) Line your fridge shelves with easy to clean mats. So. Much. Easier. To. Clean. Bonus: There are some really cute ones!
3) Store Ice Cream Cartons in plastic bags to ensure softness and avoid freezer burn.
4) Freeze leftover coffee in an ice cube tray for coffee ice cubes that won’t water down your iced coffee. Yum.
5) Organize the inside of your fridge with a small lazy susan. I found mine at a thrift store!
6) When using your dishwasher, always run full loads. Since you can’t reduce the amount of heat or water used, the more dishes you wash at a time, the more efficient your appliance becomes.
7) Before adding powdered detergent to the washer, dissolve it with a little bit of water for more efficient performance.
8) Before starting your clothes dryer, clean out the lint filter before every load, to improve dryer performance.
9) Use your waffle iron to make extra crispy hashbrowns, brownies or cinnamon rolls!
10) Your slow cooker can do way more than make soups and stews! You can use it to caramelize onions, make dessert (here or here), roast hot dogs, make a whole rotisserie chicken, or even bake potatoes!
I never realized how many ‘hacks’ I use every day. Pinterest is awesome 😉 What are some of your favorite kitchen and appliance hacks?
