Spicy Smoked Sausage Cheesy Pasta Skillet
Ingredients
- 1 TBSP bacon drippings or unsalted butter
- 1 lb Smoked Sausage, sliced or diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 can Rotel, undrained (mild or original)
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz Penne noodles, uncooked
- 8 oz Monterey Jack Cheese, Shredded
- Green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
Add bacon drippings to an oven safe skillet over medium high heat. Add sausage and onions and cook until lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Cook for another minute, stirring constantly. Add Chicken broth, Rotel, Cream, Black Pepper, and Uncooked Penne Noodles and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to medium low. Simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup of cheese. Top with remaining cheese. Place under Broiler until cheese is melted and starting to brown. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions and Enjoy!!!!
