Twix Cookie Bars
This is week 2 of my commitment to making some type of homemade dessert or baked good every week for my family. (If you are new here, I hate to bake or make desserts and am trying to do better about it. My family pretty much only gets the occasional store-bought treat even though we eat homemade food for all of our meals!)
So for week 2, I decided to try to make an at home version of our favorite cookie bars. Would you believe these cookie bars only have 5 Ingredients? They ALSO are no bake and require less than 10 minutes of prep time! #winning These were super fun to make with the kiddos too! My 6 year old enjoyed lining the cookies up JUST right in the pan and my 11 year old was in charge of microwaving the chocolate & caramel.
You guys, my family absolutely DEVOURED these delicious bars! These would be so amazing to bring to a party. I bet they will be the first thing to DISAPPEAR! Give them a try and see what you think!
Ingredients
- 1 Package Lorna Doone Shortbread Cookies
- 1 (11 oz) Package Caramel Cookie Bits
- 1 Tbsp Milk
- 3 oz BAKERS White Chocolate
- 3 oz Bakers Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Instructions
Line a 13x9 pan with aluminum foil, making sure to leave some extra extended over the sides of the pan. Spray foil with cooking spray.
Arrange cookies in a single layer in the bottom of the prepared pan. I used 35 of the cookies for this.
Microwave caramel bits and milk in microwaveable bowl in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until caramel is completely melted. Around 2 minutes total depending on your microwave. Pour over cookies; spread to completely cover cookies.
Break chocolate into small pieces and microwave in a microwaveable bowl for 30 second increments, stirring in between, until chocolate is melted. Around 2 minutes total depending on your microwave. Pour over caramel layer; spread to completely cover caramel layer.
Chill in the fridge for half an hour. Lift out of pan by picking up the foil and then cut into bars. Enjoy!
