Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Chicken
Good morning friends! Since school got out we have been spending lots of time playing and at the pool. I use my slow cooker just about every day for something! I bought a whole chicken on sale the other day and made our favorite pulled barbecue chicken in the crock pot. It made a fabulous topping for our baked potatoes for dinner and the leftovers made yummy bbq chicken topped salads for lunch the next day! We also use this chicken for wraps, sandwiches, pizzas or to top nachos. The possibilities are endless 🙂
Slow Cooker Pulled BBQ Chicken
Ingredients
1 Whole Chicken
1 onion, sliced or diced
3/4 cups of your favorite bbq sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp minced garlic
Directions
Remove giblets from chicken. Rinse with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Spray your crock pot with pam. Place Chicken in the bottom. Add the onions over the top of the chicken. In a small bowl, mix up the rest of the ingredients. Pour over the chicken and onions. Cover and cook on low 6 – 8 hours or until Chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken from slow cooker and allow to cool. Pull chicken off the bones and top with some of the juices from the slow cooker and additional barbecue sauce if desired.
