Italian Style Cube Steak and Potatoes
This is an easy and super yummy one pot meal! It only takes 10 minutes of hands on time, then simmers away for 30-40 minutes. I think this would be a great one to try in the crock pot. When I try it, I will report back and let ya’ll know how it turns out!
Ingredients
3 TBSP Vegetable Oil
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 TBSP minced garlic
4 cube steaks
4 small potatoes or 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
2 (15oz) cans tomato sauce plus 1 can of water
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Parsley for garnish
Garlic Salt to taste
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet or dutch oven over medium heat. (Make sure it is one with a lid) Add onions and cook for 2 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more, stirring constantly. Add cube steaks and brown on both sides. Next, add potatoes, both cans of tomato sauce, 1 can of water, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and cube steaks are cooked through. Garnish with parsley. After you plate the cube steak and potatoes, add a little garlic salt to taste on each cube steak. Enjoy!
